Chia Jam Recipe

My go-to topping for toast, pancakes, waffles, and more, this homemade chia jam recipe comes together with just four simple ingredients and easy steps. Refined sugar-free and higher in healthy fats and fiber than your standard jam recipe, it's sweet, fruity, filling, and perfect for making in bulk or gifting!

Equipment

  • 1 Medium Saucepan
  • 1 Potato Masher or Immersion Blender

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries or berries of choice
  • 2 Tablespoons chia seeds
  • 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1-2 Tablespoons maple syrup or honey

Instructions
 

  • Wash and dry the berries. Chop the strawverries into pieces.
    2 cups fresh strawberries
  • Combine all the ingredients in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
    2 Tablespoons chia seeds, 1 Tablespoon lemon juice, 1-2 Tablespoons maple syrup
  • Simmer for 5-8 minutes or until the berries break down.
  • Use a fork, potato masher, or immersion blender to puree the jam to your desired consistency. I leave mine a little chunky!
  • Remove the pan from the heat, transfer the chia seed jam to a container, and cool completely before storing.

Notes

Storage: Chia jam will keep fresh in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week.
