Beef Taco Meat Recipe

This beef taco meat recipe comes together with just two simple ingredients and is ready to eat in minutes. We love to prepare a large batch for meal prep, and use it to make beef tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and more for protein-rich meals loaded with flavor!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 pounds 80/20 ground beef
  • 4 Tablespoons taco seasoning or to taste
  • 1/4-1/2 cup water

Instructions
 

  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the ground beef, and brown, breaking it into pieces as it cooks.

  • Add the taco seasoning and 1/4 to 1/2 cup water.
    4 Tablespoons taco seasoning or to taste, 1/4-1/2 cup water
  • Bring the water to a boil, stirring frequently. Then, reduce the heat to a simmer.
  • Simmer until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.

Notes

Note: If using leaner ground beef, add oil to the skillet before cooking. 
Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three to four days. Or, freeze for up to two to three months
